UWB anchor installation places fixed reference devices at the positions approved for the location system. The scope must identify the hardware, mounting method, coordinate record, power and backhaul for each device before a crew is scheduled.

We scope mounting, cabling, network readiness and field documentation against the selected RTLS design. The platform owner specifies the radio layout, commissioning and application acceptance.

This resource defines physical installation planning. Platform engineering, software integration and positioning guarantees require a separately assigned, qualified owner.

Build a model-specific installation schedule

A generic UWB label is not an installation specification. Wired and wireless product families create different field tasks. Record the manufacturer's model and current instructions beside each device on the schedule.

Protect the approved geometry

An anchor moved to a convenient beam may change the planned system. Document any obstruction and request a designer decision before relocation. Return the measured position using the coordinate convention supplied by the platform owner.

Verify infrastructure without assuming the radio result

Test the specified cable links and confirm device connectivity using the agreed procedure. Wireless backhaul still needs a documented design and acceptance owner. Network readiness does not by itself validate location accuracy.

Finish with an anchor-by-anchor record

Use the same identifier on the device register, drawing and field photograph. Let the commissioning team flag mismatches before the crew demobilizes. Define the correction process for a device that cannot be accepted.

Complete the workbook with your platform designer. Record device quantities, approved mounting points, access constraints and infrastructure dependencies. We use those inputs to define field labor and handoff responsibilities.

Questions to settle before the crew arrives

Can UWB anchors share the existing network?

That depends on the platform's current network requirements and the customer's design. Have the network and platform owners approve the connection plan.

Is there a standard anchor spacing for every warehouse?

No universal spacing should be assumed. Geometry, obstructions, use case and the selected system determine the layout.

Does installing anchors prove positioning accuracy?

No. The positioning test must be performed and accepted under the platform commissioning plan. Physical installation records support that test.

Who approves an anchor relocation?

The designated platform designer approves a revised location. Record that change before installing outside the released layout.

What does SRS need to scope the physical work?

Send the site list, states, drawings, device schedule and approved installation instructions. Include access windows and the contact who owns platform commissioning so responsibilities can be agreed before dispatch.

Which costs affect the field estimate?

Mounting access, work windows, pathways, travel, device quantities and readiness gaps affect field labor. Platform licenses, calibration and application integration should be quoted separately by their assigned owners.

How should a pilot become a multi-site deployment?

Accept the pilot against the agreed physical and platform tests before repeating it. Carry forward the approved checklist, record site-specific differences and confirm readiness before each later visit.

What does the scope workbook include?

It records site readiness, device locations, responsibility owners, acceptance checks and cost categories. Complete it with the platform designer and facility owner, then use it to request comparable field estimates.
