SRS Networks is a nationwide infrastructure deployment company headquartered in South San Francisco, California, serving enterprises across the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, and Hawaii since 1996. We scope mounting, cabling, network readiness and field documentation against the selected RTLS design. The platform owner specifies the radio layout, commissioning and application acceptance.

This resource defines physical installation planning. Platform engineering, software integration and positioning guarantees require a separately assigned, qualified owner.

Start with the tracking decision

Define which assets must be located, where the system must work and how the customer will accept it. A floor plan and tag count alone do not define a location system. Freeze the approved layout and identify the engineer who can authorize a moved anchor.

Separate field work from platform commissioning

The field package covers the approved mounting points, specified cable links, power availability and device identification. Platform configuration, calibration and application integration need an assigned owner and an explicit handoff. A powered device is not evidence that the position data meets the use case.

Pilot the difficult operating area

Choose a pilot that includes the real obstructions and operating conditions. Racks, moving equipment and temporary inventory can change the environment. Resolve the pilot exceptions before repeating the installation across buildings.

Close with a usable device register

Return one record tying each device ID to its installed position, supporting infrastructure and drawing reference. Record deviations and the approval that permitted them. The platform team should be able to commission from the package without rediscovering the installation.

Complete the workbook with your platform designer. Record device quantities, approved mounting points, access constraints and infrastructure dependencies. We use those inputs to define field labor and handoff responsibilities.

Questions to settle before the crew arrives

Does RTLS installation include software commissioning?

Only when the written scope names that responsibility and the qualified platform owner. Physical completion and location-performance acceptance are separate milestones.

Does every RTLS anchor need Ethernet?

No. The selected model and system architecture determine power and backhaul. Confirm the actual device schedule before estimating cable drops.

How is this different from an RTLS deployment partner?

This page defines the facility buyer's installation package. The partner page covers white-label field execution for a platform vendor or integrator.

What establishes installation completion?

Use the approved device schedule, field records and correction list to accept physical work. The platform owner separately records the agreed positioning tests.

What does SRS need to scope the physical work?

Send the site list, states, drawings, device schedule and approved installation instructions. Include access windows and the contact who owns platform commissioning so responsibilities can be agreed before dispatch.

Which costs affect the field estimate?

Mounting access, work windows, pathways, travel, device quantities and readiness gaps affect field labor. Platform licenses, calibration and application integration should be quoted separately by their assigned owners.

How should a pilot become a multi-site deployment?

Accept the pilot against the agreed physical and platform tests before repeating it. Carry forward the approved checklist, record site-specific differences and confirm readiness before each later visit.

What does the scope workbook include?

It records site readiness, device locations, responsibility owners, acceptance checks and cost categories. Complete it with the platform designer and facility owner, then use it to request comparable field estimates.
