BLE AoA installation

BLE angle-of-arrival installation places directional locators according to the positioning design and preserves their location and orientation records. It requires a different acceptance plan from a basic Bluetooth proximity-beacon deployment.

SRS Networks is a nationwide infrastructure deployment company headquartered in South San Francisco, California, serving enterprises across the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, and Hawaii since 1996. We scope mounting, cabling, network readiness and field documentation against the selected RTLS design. The platform owner specifies the radio layout, commissioning and application acceptance.

This resource defines physical installation planning. Platform engineering, software integration and positioning guarantees require a separately assigned, qualified owner.

Specify the positioning architecture

Identify the locator models, compatible tags and positioning software in the approved design. Do not price an AoA system as a generic beacon grid. Define whether the buyer needs a zone event or coordinates and who tests that result.

Retain position and orientation records

The installation record must preserve the locator position and the orientation required by the manufacturer's procedure. Coordinate measurement and configuration ownership before field work starts. Do not substitute a visual estimate for a specified measurement method.

Agree wired and wireless connectivity choices

For Quuppa-based designs, the manufacturer describes Ethernet and Q-Link deployment choices with different tradeoffs. The platform designer selects the topology for the use case. The crew follows the approved power and connectivity schedule.

Accept the intended tracking behavior

A successful device discovery check is one milestone. The application must also produce the agreed output along representative paths and zones. Assign the test route and the person who accepts failures or schedules corrections.

Complete the workbook with your platform designer. Record device quantities, approved mounting points, access constraints and infrastructure dependencies. We use those inputs to define field labor and handoff responsibilities.

Questions to settle before the crew arrives

Is BLE AoA the same as RSSI tracking?

No. Angle-of-arrival positioning and signal-strength proximity use different measurements. The design and acceptance plan should name the required approach.

Can every locator be wireless?

Do not assume that. The product, power arrangement and performance requirements determine whether the manufacturer's wireless option is appropriate.

Does SRS provide a Quuppa certification through this page?

No. This is installation planning information and a route to scope physical field work. Any required manufacturer credentials must be verified for the actual engagement.

Who configures the positioning engine?

The qualified platform owner configures and commissions it unless the contract explicitly assigns that task elsewhere. Identify that owner before scheduling field acceptance.

What does SRS need to scope the physical work?

Send the site list, states, drawings, device schedule and approved installation instructions. Include access windows and the contact who owns platform commissioning so responsibilities can be agreed before dispatch.

Which costs affect the field estimate?

Mounting access, work windows, pathways, travel, device quantities and readiness gaps affect field labor. Platform licenses, calibration and application integration should be quoted separately by their assigned owners.

How should a pilot become a multi-site deployment?

Accept the pilot against the agreed physical and platform tests before repeating it. Carry forward the approved checklist, record site-specific differences and confirm readiness before each later visit.

What does the scope workbook include?

It records site readiness, device locations, responsibility owners, acceptance checks and cost categories. Complete it with the platform designer and facility owner, then use it to request comparable field estimates.
