Restaurant WiFi

Restaurant WiFi, Deployed to
One Standard at Every Site.

Guest WiFi, the POS and payment network, handhelds, KDS, cameras, and drive-thru all ride the same wireless. SRS Networks designs, cables, and installs restaurant WiFi that holds at peak and stays segmented for PCI — at 10 sites or 800.

For multi-site restaurant brands and the POS providers and integrators behind their rollouts — vendor-neutral wireless deployment across all 48 contiguous states.

SRS Networks is a nationwide IT infrastructure deployment firm headquartered in Salinas, California, deploying restaurant WiFi — site surveys, access points, VLAN segmentation, and guest wireless — for multi-site brands and national integrators across all 48 contiguous states since 1996. It is a separate business from any local Salinas IT services provider.

We've completed 500+ deployments across 5,000+ sites with in-house W-2 leads, a vetted W-9 subcontractor bench, West and East Coast staging facilities, and every site tracked live in our Project Command Center. We deploy and support the wireless; we don't resell the hardware — which keeps us vendor-neutral on whatever platform a brand or its integrator has standardized on.

The Challenge

Restaurant WiFi Breaks in Predictable Ways

Every restaurant runs guests, payments, and the kitchen over one wireless network. At one store a local installer can fake it. Across a chain, the shortcuts compound.

Guest WiFi Riding the POS Network

The fastest way to fail a PCI audit is one flat network where a guest phone and the card reader share a VLAN. Most single-store installs never segment it — at scale, that's the same exposure copied 400 times.

Dead Zones the Local Installer Misses

Stainless steel, walk-in coolers, microwaves, and a drive-thru wall eat 2.4 and 5 GHz alike. A general installer hangs an AP in the dining room and calls it covered — then handhelds drop at the make-line during the rush.

A Different WiFi Build at Every Store

When each market hires its own shop, no two restaurants match — different APs, different SSIDs, different segmentation. Support starts from zero at every site, and corporate has no single view of any of it.

WiFi Treated as an Afterthought to the POS

POS, kiosks, KDS, and drive-thru AI all assume the wireless under them already works. When it doesn't, every one of those programs inherits the dropouts — and the field tickets land on a network nobody designed.

The Solution

One Wireless Spec.
Every Restaurant.

SRS Networks surveys each site, designs the AP layout to your device load, pulls the cabling backbone, and installs wireless that stays segmented to your PCI scope at every store. Guests get their own VLAN and a branded splash page. The POS, KDS, and payment lanes get theirs. One spec travels with the crew to all 48 states.

Guest VLAN walled off from POS, payments, and cameras for PCI scope
AP density designed for peak device load, drive-thru and patio included
Cabling backbone pulled and Fluke-certified to every AP and IDF
Gear imaged and pre-staged at West and East Coast facilities
One controller view across every site, not a login per store
P1 4-hour and P2 next-day onsite break-fix, nationwide

The Guest Network Is a PCI Problem, Not a Convenience

A guest VLAN that touches the register puts the whole card-data environment in scope. We build restaurant WiFi so guest traffic, the POS and payment path, handhelds and KDS, cameras, and IoT each sit on a separate VLAN with firewall rules between them. The guest splash page captures an email; it never sees the payment network. Segmentation is verified at every site and filed in the closeout.

How the Rollout Runs

Four Steps, Every Site the Same

The same sequence runs at store one and store eight hundred — which is how the WiFi comes out identical whether the tech is in Ohio or California.

1

Survey & RF Design

Per-store survey maps the kitchen, dining room, drive-thru, and patio. We design AP count and placement to your device load, not a generic floor plan.

2

Pre-Stage & Configure

APs, switches, and controllers imaged and labeled at our West or East Coast staging facility, so the crew installs known-good gear, not a box opened on site.

3

Install & Cable

Crew mounts APs, pulls and Fluke-certifies the cabling backbone, and stands up the VLANs — guest, POS, KDS, cameras, and IoT each on their own path.

4

Validate & Document

Heat map and throughput test at every site, segmentation verified, and the whole closeout filed in the Project Command Center before we leave.

For POS Providers & Integrators

The Wireless Layer Under Your Rollout

POS, kiosk, and drive-thru programs assume the WiFi already works. When it doesn't, the dropouts surface as tickets against your platform. SRS Networks is the vendor-neutral field arm that builds and validates the wireless under the program — wholesale channel-partner pricing, one PM, COI audited before every dispatch, and white-label closeout so the brand sees your name, not ours.

When to hire someone else

If you run one restaurant and need a few APs hung, hire a local installer directly. Our coordination overhead doesn't pay back until you're rolling roughly 25+ sites or opening faster than a single shop can cover. Below that line, a same-day local tech wins on drive time and price.

And if what you need is the access points and licenses themselves, that's a VAR or your reseller — Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, Aruba, or Ruckus through their channel. SRS installs, segments, and supports the wireless in the field; we don't sell the boxes or the licenses. We'll say so on the scoping call rather than mark up gear you can buy direct.

Straight Answers

Restaurant WiFi Deployment FAQs

What restaurant operations leaders and integrator program managers ask us most before signing a WiFi deployment SOW.

Restaurant WiFi installation is the survey, cabling, and wireless buildout that gives a restaurant coverage that holds at peak — an on-site RF survey of the dining room, kitchen, drive-thru, and patio; access points mounted and PoE-fed for that device load; the Cat6/Cat6A or fiber backbone pulled and Fluke-certified to each AP; VLAN segmentation that splits guest WiFi from the POS, payments, KDS, cameras, and IoT; and a guest splash page. Coverage is heat-mapped and throughput-tested at every site before go-live. SRS Networks delivers it to one standard across 48 states, from a single store to a national chain.
